There is no denying that remote control applications can be very useful when you need to help another user, over a distance or if you want to see his desktop. Unfortunately, it may take some time to set up a connection, especially over the Internet. With most programs, you need to install it on both computers, specify IP addresses and make various configurations. ScreenConnect provides you with a solution which should satisfy your needs. It makes it much easier to establish a connection between computers and it lets you assume control immediately.

ScreenConnect works on various Windows platforms, from Win 2000 up to Windows 8. It is also available for Mac, Linux, iOS and Android platforms. The setup file for MS Windows is only 2 MB and it takes about one minute to install the software.

Installing ScreenConnect on your own computer is enough to start controlling other computers. The application provides a web interface, which is loaded on your default browser. As an administrator, you may create new sessions and invite other people to join them, by sending them a URL, which ScreenConnect provides automatically. When you join a session, the software will download a Java executable file, which launches a client module. If a guest joins your session, a similar file will be downloaded, on his computer, for the server module.

If you and your friend are connected to the same session, you, the administrator, will take control of his computer. The remote desktop is loaded on a separate window and you may perform any action, on your friend's computer, from a simple click to complex tasks. It is possible to create other sessions, for different guests. Your sessions are listed on ScreenConnect's web interface and you may organize them in various categories.

In terms of security, the software provides three ways of sending an invitation to your friends. You may create a publicly listed session, which can be joined by anyone, without any restrictions. It you want to prevent unauthorized persons from joining, you may create a password protected session. Another way to invite a friend to your session is to send the connection URL by email. You just need to specify your contact's email address and the program will do the rest.
